Bright acidity balances the wine's richness, while a textured mouthfeel enhances its depth with silky tannins carrying through a long, elegant finish to showcase this wine's signature vibrancy and complexity.

A firm and structured red with a deep core of succulent fruit, wrapped with velvety tannins, this offers ripe mulberries and blackberries, together with spices, toasted cedar and iodine. Long finish.

The 2022 Saggi Red Wine is a blend of 67% Sangiovese (its most ever), 19% Cabernet Sauvignon for structure, and 14% Syrah for spiciness. Meaty and full of sweet baking spice and minerally iron, it’s a full-bodied, elegant wine of dense black fruit and fierce, melting tannins. The grapes come from Candy Mountain, Blue Mountain, and Sagemoor. It’s good to go and age-worthy for another 10-12 years.

94 Points

Built around 67% Sangiovese, supported by 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Syrah, this edition of Saggi opens with a swirl of dark cherry and crushed plum, layered over warm notes of cardamom and worn leather. The fruit sourced from Candy Mountain, Blue Mountain, and Sagemoor gives the wine a sense of breadth, and the full-bodied frame carries both richness and finesse as it moves across the palate. A thread of graphite and dried herb adds contrast to the concentrated core, and the tannins feel polished yet firm enough to support the wine’s long evolution.

Vineyards

Saggi is a blend of four exceptional vineyards, each bringing distinct characteristics to the wine. Candy Mountain (57%), one of Washington's warmest growing sites, gives Saggi ripe, concentrated fruit character and a strong backbone. Blue Mountain Vineyard (25%) in the Walla Walla Valley contributes depth, richness, and an expressive Sangiovese character. The remainder of the blend is from Bacchus and Dionysus Vineyards, part of the esteemed Sagemoor Farms, and is used to add complexity and finesse to the finished wine.
