With all of the impressive features of the regular Pirouette bottling, the 2016 Pirouette Solo Dancer picks up where the former leaves off, however, with a more seductive and elegant nose. Velvety cherry skin and blackberry essence waft from the glass with juicy plums, cinnamon, cardamom and baking spices from elegant oak. The vibrant fruit and oak frame ties all of the intricacies together, seamlessly integrated with soft herbs and baked earth. Full-bodied, the mid-palate has a head-spinning focus with an immaculate frame of juicy dark red fruits, a blackberry core and a balanced structure with elegantly lifted tannins. It ends with a long, drawn-out finish that is seductive and velvety with a chocolaty essence and lingering silky mouthfeel. I’m impressed! This is delicious, and I can’t put my glass down. Well done!

Checking in as 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2016 Pirouette Vintage Select sports a dense purple hue as well as lots of pure cassis and blackberry fruits merged with tobacco, graphite, and violets. Hitting the palate with full-bodied richness, it brings plenty of richness and depth, yet I love its purity of fruit as well as its precision and length on the palate. The tannins are still present yet nicely integrated, and this can be enjoyed today or cellared for a solid 15-20 years. It's a gorgeous bottle of wine.

Slightly inky scents of black and blue fruits, licorice, menthol, herbs and bitter chocolate. Enters the mouth plush, rich and ripe, with an almost chocolatey ripeness but good energy to its reticent black fruit flavors.
