Vinous

The 2022 Cymbal Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with an intense mix of crushed grapefruit, sage and freshly-cut grass. This is luxuriously soft and round, with ripe mineral-tinged nectarines and sweet spices wonderfully balanced by a core of saline minerality. It finishes dramatically long and spicy, with a sour melon tinge that leaves the mouth watering for more. The 2022 Cymbal is one of the most refined Washington State Sauvignon Blancs I have come across.

International Wine Report

The 2022 Cymbal Sauvignon Blanc from Long Shadows was aged in a combination of French oak barrels, concrete tanks, and stainless steel, which gives it a very complex and rounded mouthfeel. Notes of gooseberry, kiwi fruit, lime zest, mountain flowers, and hints of freshly sliced apple are all present and combined wonderfully in the glass. I loved the full-bodied texture that completely envelopes the palate with its mouthwatering acidity. Drink now or over the next 4-5 years.

Owen Bargreen

Stored in stainless steel, concrete tanks, and French oak barrels, the 2022 Cymbal comes from 1972 Sauvignon Blanc plantings from Bacchus Vineyard, as well as some from Boushey and Gamache Vineyard. This shows incredible texture and sense of weight with bright acidity with gooseberry and melon tones, as well as baking spices and Pink Lady apple flavors.

This blend of blocks from multiple noted vineyards was fermented in a mix of barrels, concrete tanks and stainless steel, including abut 25% new French oak. An enticing aroma if citrus, herbs and spices draws you in, then tangy lemongrass, green-apple and grapefruit flavors emerge.

Pear, nectarine and dusty incense aromas trigger numerous repeat sniffs of the glass. The flavors of lime zest, nectarine and quinine water, however, will snap you out of that scent trance. The wine's brisk acidity and crisp mouthfeel are more refreshing than a nap.
