Long Shadows Vintage Select Wines
Long Shadows Vintners wines are made in small lots to allow maximum blending flexibility. Occasionally, a few lots or select barrels stand out as exemplary of the vintage. When this is the case and the winemaker identifies a rare, exceptional wine worthy of showcasing, a limited release Vintage Select wine is produced.
These Vintage Select Wines are not guaranteed to be made every year and only four of the six red wines in our portfolio have been considered for Vintage Select status: Sequel, Feather, Pirouette, and Pedestal. When the conditions are just right, we bottle a small amount and make it available exclusively to our Key Club Members as an additional perk.
Starting with the 2007 vintage, we have released a total of 15 Vintage Select Wines. Sequel BIN 808 Vintage Select has the most with six vintages followed by Feather Vintage Select (our first 100 point wine…see below) with four. The two rarest are the Pirouette Solo Dancer and Pedestal with three and two vintages respectively.
Our First 100 Point Wine - 2019 Feather Vintage Select
The 2019 Feather Vintage Select was our first 100 point wine with Wine Advocate writing, "If you’re a fan of the regular Feather bottling, just wait until you try the 2019 Vintage Select! It’s seductive, finessed, rich, round and undeniably the champion of the lineup this year, offering a world-class Cabernet with an alluring nose that tempts with aromas of dark cherry, pure oak essences and picturesque floral notes...let this wine be the guiding light for any non-believers that Washington State can produce elegant, world-class Cabernet that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best that the world has to offer....it literally leaves me silent and breathless with goosebumps as I try to remember every detail of every layer."
99 Points - 2018 Sequel BIN 898 Vintage Select
The 2018 Sequel BIN 898 Vintage Select received 99 points with Wine Advocate saying, "...pure and elegant with succulent red fruit aromas, fresh potpourri and layers of fresh florals that sashay with focus, precision and finesse before spicy oak tones sing in unison...overflowing with immense pleasure and picturesque black raspberry and pink peppercorn flavors. The BIN 898 continues to uncoil and unwind, revealing a powerhouse wine that exudes fresh, spicy red fruit tones emanating with precision and focus. Bravo!"
97 Points - 2015 Pedestal Vintage Select
The 2015 Pedestal Vintage Select earned 97 points from Wine Advocate. “While the fruit is still young and grippy, the wine still has another year or more until it will be released—only to wine club members—and will undoubtedly be the envy of any wine collector.”
96 Points - 2016 Pirouette Vintage Select
Jeb Dunnuck reviewed the 2016 Pirouette and rated it 96 points. “I love its purity of fruit as well as its precision and length on the palate. The tannins are still present yet nicely integrated, and this can be enjoyed today or cellared for a solid 15-20 years. It's a gorgeous bottle of wine.”

The pedigree and quality of the Vintage Select wines is unmatched in Washington and we are extremely proud and honored that we are able to produce wines of this caliber for our biggest supporters. These wines are meant to be cellared and will only grow in complexity as the years go on, making them sought-after collectors’ wines.
