From the time Gilles Nicault arrived in the Columbia Valley, he dreamed of crafting a wine that would capture the pure reflection of the New World terroir reminiscent of his Rhône Valley heritage.

Tasting Notes:

Crafted with meticulous care and passion, this Red Mountain GSM offers a captivating aromatic profile, characterized by prominent notes of black currant and figs that intertwine seamlessly with hints of crushed white pepper, adding a savory depth to the bouquet. The taste experience is equally enchanting, providing a rounded yet well-structured mouthfeel and a richness that balances well with the vibrant character of this Rhône style blend. Flavors of sage and plum take center stage, providing a harmonious equilibrium between layers of fruitiness and umami which contribute to the wine's intricate complexity. A lengthy peppercorn finish adds a nuanced touch of spice, elevating the overall tasting experience.

The 2020 Côté Nicault is a seductive mélange of near equal parts Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache - all hailing from the Red Haven Vineyard on Red Mountain. Stored in a combination of new and used French oak and terracotte botti, this offers really good richness and tension. Smoked beef ribs, Hoisin sauce, black currants and garrigue notes all combine twith loads of mouth-watering acidity. Coming off clean, this is a rich and broad-shouldered wine that is drinking marvelously now. No reason to cellar this beauty. Drink 2024-2030.
